Women’s Day of Reflection to be held on September 26th

The Ministries Department, Dallas Diocesan Council of Catholic Women  and the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe have scheduled a Women’s Day of Reflection on Wednesday, September 26th. The topic for the 8th year of the series is "Mary: Window to our Hearts". Sign-in for the event will take place from 9:00 A.M to 9:30 A.M. in the Grand Salon of the Cathedral, located next to the main Chapel. Mass will be celebrated with Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel at Noon.

The keynote speaker for the event is Sister Yolanda Cruz, SSMN, Vice Chancellor of the Diocese of Fort Worth. Sister Yolanda is a Sister of St. Mary of Namur. She completed advanced studies from Rutgers University in New Jersey, the Pontifical University in Mexico and obtained a Masters in Theological Studies from the Catholic University of Dallas. Currently, she serves as the Bishop’s Vice Chancellor for Parish Services and Women Religious of the Diocese of Fort Worth.

Sister Yolanda will present an Iconic image of Mary as the Star of Evangelization. She will present Mary’s Evangelization mission as found in Sacred Scriptures, and highlight several different advocations known for Mary that reflect her diverse Evangelization styles. She will emphasize Pope Benedict XVI and the “New Evangelization” document and conclude underlining some qualities to emulate in “Mary – Model of Evangelization.”

Please bring your favorite image of Mary for a prayer table, and attach your name and phone number to the image.

Attendees must pre-register for the event. Early Registration must be submitted by September 19th ($25 - non-refundable). Registration after the 19th will be $30 (non-refundable). All registrations must be postmarked no later than Sept 21st. Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch. Child care will be provided at $5.00 per child, and the child must bring a sack lunch.
