2020 First Communions are delayed, not cancelled
Our children will receive Jesus in the Eucharist when the Bishop, in consultation with local authorities, determines that it is safe for us to gather together again.
It is the Easter Season and we are celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Typically, during this season parish communities all over the Diocese of Dallas also celebrate young disciples receiving the Lord in His Body and Blood in their First Holy Communion.
Due to COVID-19, parish celebrations of First Holy Communion have been postponed but they are not cancelled. Our children will receive Jesus in the Eucharist when the Bishop, in consultation with local authorities, determines that it is safe for us to gather together again.
Each parish will determine a date and time for their celebrations of First Holy Communion. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local parish for the most up to date information.
