On January 17, thousands of North Texans came together to offer prayers for the millions of lives lost to abortion. Participants also marched in celebration of the many successes in 2014 for the cause of life, including increased abortion regulations, the closure of many abortion facilities across the state, and a decrease in the number of abortions in Texas.
The 2015 Roe Memorial Mass took place at the convention center in downtown Dallas with thousands in attendance. The Mass was concelebrated by Bishops Kevin Farrell, Michael Olson and Douglas Deshotel and many diocesan priests, deacons and seminarians. Father Benjamin Cieply, L.C. preached the homily.
At the close of Mass, thousands from the Diocese of Dallas joined many others from other faiths in the ever-growing, North Texas March for Life. A total of approximately 12,000 people transformed the streets of downtown Dallas. Marchers expressed surprise at the sight of Bishop Farrell as he accepted the invitation of Bikers for Life and Knights on Bikes to ride with them at the head of the March!
