Message from Bishop Edward J. Burns and Important Announcement on Adoration and Mass
We invite everyone to join us in these online and televised liturgies. This is a time for us to pray for all who are suffering at this time and ask God for mercy, wisdom and comfort.
During these days of isolation, we are reaching out to the faithful of the Diocese of Dallas in ways that respect the government orders of “distancing“ so that together we can minimize the damage caused by the Coronavirus.
As your Shepherd, I am working with the priests, deacons and ministers in the Diocese of Dallas, to keep you spiritually nourished and your faith strong. I invite you to visit our website at www.cathdal.org to find numerous resources for prayer, Scripture, reflections and liturgy. I encourage you to gather your family together to use specific time for prayer - the rosary, scripture reading, etc. As you try to bring a routine to this time of isolation, do not forget your spiritual growth and deepening your relationship with the Lord which will bring His peace during these days.
With the good work of our managerial team at the Diocese, we are addressing the hardships that are being faced by our parishes. With the dedication of our Catholic Schools office, the program of e-learning for our students is well in place. And with the commitment of our catechetical and communications team, we have put together some programs for you and your family. Please participate in these online and televised liturgies offered this weekend.
While this is not our preferred way of celebrating our sacred liturgies with you, we are grateful that we still have a way to join together in worship and continue to support each other as members of the Body of Christ.
We invite everyone to join us in these online and televised liturgies. This is a time for us to pray for all who are suffering at this time and ask God for mercy, wisdom and comfort. We pray that God will help strengthen and protect all our first responders and medical personnel.
Thank you for taking these moments to read this letter. Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones. May our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, intercede for us.
Sincerely in Christ,
Bishop Edward J. Burns
