Bishop Edward J. Burns Ordains Six Men to the Priesthood for Diocese of Dallas

On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10 a.m., Bishop Edward Burns ordained six men as priests for the Diocese of Dallas at St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell. The Mass was concelebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Greg Kelly and priests from throughout the Diocese of Dallas.

The six new priests hail from birthplaces such as Cameroon, Mexico, Poland and Spain. Bishop Burns says, “These men are a gift to the Church and the Diocese of Dallas.  The fact that they are multi-lingual will enrich our Catholic communities and more effectively serve people from all backgrounds and cultures. I am grateful to these new priests and to their families who formed them in faith and encouraged them in their journey to the priesthood.”

The ordained men are: Rev. Samuel Martínez Hernández, Rev. Adam Mariusz Musielak, Rev. Desmond Ndikum,  Rev. Ricardo Regalado Jiménez, Rev. Juan Torres and Rev. Andrés Felipe Vives Andrade.

Saturday’s Mass marked up to nine years of study, discernment and formation for each of the six men culminating in the Sacrament of Holy Orders in which they are ordained as priests.

While the ordination Mass was by invitation only, Bishop Burns remarked that he found this to be a joyous celebration as the priests, families and community members came together to witness these men become priests. “I am happy and grateful we can gather to celebrate this important liturgy in the life of our Church.”  The Bishop went on to say, “I ask that we all pray that God our Heavenly Father will bless these good men with holiness, strength, wisdom and happiness as they begin their priestly ministries to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ through the Gospel and the sacraments.”
