2021 Year-End Giving Deadlines

Please refer to these guidelines to ensure that contributions are received and processed by December 31st.

Please note that the Diocese of Dallas Pastoral Center will close for the Christmas and New Year Holidays at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, and reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. The Pastoral Center staff will be unavailable to assist in processing gifts during this time, so please plan your year-end giving ahead of time to ensure your contributions are received and recorded appropriately.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from an IRA – If you are over age 70½, you can donate up to $100,000 tax-free from your traditional IRA.

The deadline for receipt of a 2021 distribution is December 31st. Because of the high volume of year-end gifts, contact your IRA administrator as soon as possible to allow enough time for them to issue your gift before December 31st. Distributions by check must be dated and have a postmark no later than December 31st and wire transfers must be received by December 31st. Please request that your administrator reference your name and address with the check or wire transfer. If you have any questions concerning a gift from your IRA, please contact Kelly Halaszyn at or 214-379-3178.

Checks – Date your check on or before December 31, 2021, and mail via the U.S. Postal Service with a postmark on or before December 31, 2021. Checks dated and postmarked by December 31st and received in 2022 will be recorded as 2021 contributions.

Please note that some U.S. Postal Service locations may choose to close early on Friday, December 31, 2021 in observance of New Year’s Eve. You are encouraged to check with your local Post Office.

Checks may be hand delivered to the reception desk at the Pastoral Center by noon on Thursday, December 23rd.

If you are sending a check via a service such as FedEx or UPS, it must be received by the Diocese prior to noon on Thursday, December 23rd.  Postmarks apply only to items sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
