The Easter Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, reaches its high point in the Easter Vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer on Easter Sunday.
Many parishes offer Eucharistic Adoration after the Holy Thursday Mass. After the Mass, the altars are stripped, the holy water fonts are emptied, and the Blessed Sacrament is carried through the church in procession to a place of reposition. All the beautiful symbols of Christ's Presence in the tabernacle are removed to give us the sense of His entering most fully into His Passion.
