Department of Catechetical Services offering Summer Classes for Catechists and Interested Adults

The classes offered by the Department of Catechetical Services and listed on the Catechetical Calendar are a service to Parish Catechists, throughout the Diocese of Dallas, who desire to be better formed in the faith and have the skills appropriate to sharing the faith.  Through these classes, Catechists earn hours towards a Diocesan Catechetical Certificate.  Details are offered in the Continuing Catechetical Formation Handbook with a chart of the plan listed here.

Also invited to attend are adults, who might not be catechists, but who also wish to pursue a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith.

Those who teach skills and methodology have an understanding of the catechist, the child and/or the adult learner and an understanding of classroom management.   All other courses are taught by instructors who hold a Masters degree in Theology, Theological Studies, Divinity, Religious Education, Pastoral Studies or a closely related field.

New!  Online registration through the Catechetical Calendar is now available.  Classes are offered in both English and Spanish. Please take advantage of this new technology offered for your convenience. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Natalia Lavado at .
