Location(s): Mary Immaculate,(School Library) 2800 Valwood Pkwy Farmers Branch, TX 75234

503. Christology  Who do you say I am? This is a fundamental question not only because of its context in the gospel, but for the very fact that the Church has been answering this question right from the beginning, defending and teaching Jesus’ humanity and divinity and expressing its truth through Ecumenical Councils, Church Tradition, the teachings of the Church, images and faith truths around Jesus’ life, passion, death and resurrection. This course presents the origins and developments of the theology about Jesus Christ, true God and true Man from the apostolic age.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the Incarnation and its purpose for our salvation
  • Understand Jesus of Nazareth’s human and historic reality
  • Recognize Jesus Christ as the fullness of true humanity and divinity
  • Recognize Jesus’ Resurrection as the foundational event of our Christian faith
  • Understand the development of Christology
  • Understand the influence of various images of Jesus through the ages
  • Identify Jesus Christ as the Lord of the future in interreligious dialogue
