203. The Person of the Catechist addresses the spirituality of the catechist. It includes segments that explore the vocational call of the catechist, the qualities of a committed catechists, the importance of continuing formation, and the necessity for catechists to trust in the activity of the Holy Spirit as they continue their ministry.

Objectives. At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the vocation of the catechist
  • Understand the role of the catechist in the Church’s ministry
  • Understand the qualities of a catechist as expressed in contemporary documents
  • Understand the importance of the catechist’s continued growth and understanding of the catechetical ministry
  • Understand the role of the Spirit in the catechetical ministry of the Church


This is an intermediate level course.



Dates /Times:

Thursdays Jan. 15 and 22  from  12:00  NOON to 2:30 P.M.

Must attend the two sessions to receive credit.

Who may attend:

All parishes are welcome to send catechists. The Catechetical Services will bill to the parishes only for the cost of the book. No cash or checks will be accepted at the door.

What to Bring
Bring a writing instrument, and paper or a notebook to take notes.



Please park in lower parking lot and enter through the glass doors on the northeast corner of the building. The parking lot is one way, and it is best to drive up and around the front of the church and back down to park, so you can park close to the entry/exit door. Doors will unlock at 11:30. Follow signs to the classroom. Feel free to bring a lunch. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
