Course #601. The Pentateuch, also called the Torah or the Book of the Law, is the collection of the first five books of the Bible. These books contain the story of the People of Israel from their religious prehistory to the threshold of the Promised Land. In addition, these books contain the story of Creation and explain how sin entered the world. The books of the Pentateuch include the covenantal relationship of God with his people, the laws given to them to seal the Covenant, and their liberation from bondage in Egypt.
