Quince Años. Course #710. The celebration of the Quince Años is an act of thanksgiving to God for the gift of life. It complements the Sacraments bringing awareness to the young person of the promises made by their parents, in their name, during their baptism. This is a special blessing for young Catholic women (and men), as she (he) enters adulthood, to prepare her (him) for her (his) new responsibilities. This celebration offers an extraordinary evangelizing and catechetical opportunity for the parish. The focus is on the positive contribution of women in society and their active participation in the life of the parish. At the time of the celebration of the blessing of the quinceañera, a young woman (man), standing before the altar, is publicly presented by her (his) family and friends in a gesture of thanksgiving.
