Methods for Grades 3 and 4, St. Ann (Coppell)

Saturday, October 18, 2014 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Course #102. Methods for Grades begins with a reflection on the life journey of faith. The three segments that follow explore strategies for helping students grow in their understanding of faith concepts, respond to the message of Jesus in age-appropriate ways, and respond to the demands of the justice dimensions of the Gospel.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify human development characteristics of children of that age group
  • Identify developmental faith needs
  • Develop strategies for introducing Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition
  • Understand the relevance of creative activities to faith development
  • Identify appropriate prayer forms
  • Develop ways to be inclusive of children with special needs

This is a beginner level course of 5 hours.  Beginner courses are pre-requisites designed for catechists to complete before starting or soon after beginning their catechetical ministry. Click here for a chart of the Continuing Faith Formation plan.
