Approximately 600 teenagers and volunteers are opening the door of faith this weekend, August 2-4, as they attend the Diocese of Dallas Youth Conference at the Westin Stonebriar in Frisco.

The theme of the conference this year is Open the Door of Faith and is designed to help the participants grow in their Catholic faith while giving them the spiritual tools and confidence to become more effective Disciples of Christ. The conference is for high school students who range in age from 14-18 years old. The participants pre-registered at their parishes located throughout the nine counties that make up the Diocese of Dallas.

Theschedule includes powerful speakers, high energy music, and leadership development opportunities all built within a framework of Catholic evangelization, liturgy and Scripture. The young people will attend workshops featuring topics and titles such as:God’s Creation—A Right and a Duty; If You Can't Stand Life, Kneel; and God Thinks I'm a Good Idea.

Featured speaker Steve Angrisano is undoubtedly one of the most effective and versatile ministry leaders in the Church today. He brings to DCYC his passionate message of faith, hope and love woven throughout his music and storytelling through his unique blend of humor, song, story and interaction

Bishop Kevin J. Farrell says “providing environments that encourage both strong Catholic identity and values for our young people is of utmost importance today.” DCYC helps to provide this environment for our youth.

The Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference is being sponsored and conducted by the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries of the Diocese of Dallas.
