Job Description

The Highlands is a PK-12 private Catholic college preparatory school of 350+ students located in the Las Colinas area of the Dallas Metroplex. We are well known for our excellence in academics and strong character/spiritual formation. We have continuously been recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society as one of the top 5% of Catholic schools in the nation. The school offers a strong faith community with a wonderful family atmosphere.

We are seeking a Director of Operation to lead the operational side of our program. The Director of Operations supports the overall mission of the school by managing the non-academic business aspects of the life of the school. At the same time, they participate directly in the mission by modeling the Catholic and Christian values of The Highlands as a witness to our whole community.

The Director of Operation is responsible for the following areas: Accounting, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Risk Management, and the Front Office.

Job Duties include:
1. Manage the accounting staff with responsibilities including AP, AR, GL, Payroll and Collections
2. Oversight of the Technology department
3. Management of the HR function including benefits administration & open enrollment
4. Management of the banking and treasury functions
5. Financial liaison to the Board of Trustees related to reporting, planning, and strategic development
6. Preparation and analysis of the annual operating budget

The position reports directly to the President. The Director of Operations role qualifies for a 100% tuition coverage at The Highlands for the employee’s children.

Job Requirements

Strong accounting/finance background, experience managing a team, 10+ years of experience in business management and accounting.
Skilled at project management.
Strong process and procedures orientation.
