Job Description

Prince of Peace (POP) is a Catholic school that educates students beginning at the age of 3 through 8th grade. Prince of Peace Catholic School is devoted to instilling strong Catholic values, fostering a life of faith and servant leadership, providing a challenging academic environment, and inspiring each student to shine to the fullest extent of his or her God-given potential.

Position Summary:

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for designing promotional materials, managing social media outlets, updating the school website, and educating internal and external constituents in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Engagement to help develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan
- Design marketing and promotional materials that are aligned with our brand identity
- Maintain strong presence on social media platforms
- Manage school website and ensure all information is current and relevant
- Gather content, create, and publish weekly school newsletter
- Edit and send school communications
- Initiate and execute print and digital advertising contracts
- Develop press releases and coordinate media coverage opportunities
- Photograph and/or film school programs and events
- Responsible for editing/publishing the school yearbook and supervising the elective course
- Support and assist advancement team programming and events

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
- Strong familiarity with typical school software (Microsoft Office Suite, Apple platform software, RenWeb/FACTS) and social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Ability to meet established plans, goals, deadlines and objectives
- Strong initiative, ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
- Works well both independently and collaboratively under extremely tight deadlines, on several projects concurrently
- Possess organizational and creative thinking skills; attention to detail is imperative
- Demonstrates high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment; flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information
- Proactive problem solver and knowledgeable of correct protocol for specific situations
- Eagerness to stay current on trends and developments in communications and marketing
- Regularly monitor and analyze competitors to better understand trends and determine feasibility for POP

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in graphic design, photography, website management
