In My Shoes has a position in Dallas, Texas for an energetic team member who likes to take initiative and has a passion to serve. This candidate will serve on our Residential Core Team and live in community with mothers and babies who are facing homelessness. The team member will commit to one year of service, with the opportunity to recommit for a second year.
While serving at In My Shoes, the team member will be responsible for providing emotional support to the moms, as well as assisting in the daily operations of the house, including administrative duties. Team members are expected to participate in and embrace all aspects of community life in the house, which includes community prayer with other staff members/volunteers, community dinner nights with all residents, house outings, etc. The Team Member is also responsible for ensuring safety and enforcing rules within the house and assisting the mothers in setting and achieving their goals toward self-sufficiency.
This position requires teamwork, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. All Residential Core Team Members will be provided with a full week of on-site training, with continued training and mentorship during their year of service, as well as paid vacation days, paid health insurance and a monthly living stipend.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
