Job Description

General Summary of the Position

The Facilities Team Staff works as part of our Facilities team under the direction of our Facilities Manager to help keep our campus running smoothly and looking beautiful. As a member of this team of staff, you will work on projects involving general cleaning and upkeep of Parish buildings, grounds, and equipment. You will help in set-up/tear-down for Parish functions, events, and activities. Minor maintenance tasks are also part of this team's responsibility. Some professional experience as a custodian, carpenter, electrician, plumber, or similar role is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

• Performs general maintenance functions, repair/replacement including but not limited to: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, fire safety, alarms, energy management, irrigation, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, doors and related hardware, windows, floor covering, furnishing and fixtures, painting/finishing of surfaces, etc. and or construction work as needed or assigned
• Landscaping duties include mowing, edging, picking up grass clippings, trimming trees and bushes, raking and bagging leaves
• Identify possible safety issues and take steps to avoid accidents
• Must inspect facility and grounds on a routine basis and keep log of any tasks to be completed
• Must have maintenance work experience and be skilled with various hand and power tools
• Must be able to read and understand repair manuals
• Maintains tools, equipment, vehicles, and work area in a clean and safe condition
• Provides general assistance as needed which may include moving office furniture, hauling and moving items, and picking up parts or other equipment as requested

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a cooperative & effective team relationship with staff and parishioners
• Hard worker who is a self-starter and proactive with keen attention to detail
• Good time management skills with an availability to work flexible hours and weekends when needed
• Must be available by cell phone for emergency services
• Computer competent (Microsoft Office, internet, and ability to learn job-specific Elexio applications
• Able to lift 50-75 pounds with assurance
• Able to climb and work on ladders and elevated platforms
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Support other areas of campus operations as needed

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate
• Technical school or equivalent experience a plus
• 3-5 years of facilities/maintenance experience
• A basic understanding of the Catholic Church & our All Saints Parish
• Must have Diocesan safe environment clearance and background check
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
