Job Description

St. Rita Catholic Community is currently looking for someone to join our Parish and School Communications team! It’s an important role where you can make a huge impact on our school and parish community as we not only spread news about events and programs but also work to evangelize and advance the missions of both entities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communication Request Management
• Assists the Director of Communications in organizing and implementing marketing and communication requests from school faculty and staff, school volunteers, parish staff, parish ministry leaders, Diocesan leaders and outside organizations.
• Incorporates the details of approved requests into parish and school communication channels, as appropriate.
• Posts and removes approved flyers and posters on church doors, Narthex bulletin boards and campus entrances.

Parish Bulletin
• Responsible for the design and layout of the weekly parish bulletin, incorporating current Communications requests and standard weekly content.

Weekly email to parishioners
• Responsible for the design and layout of the weekly parish email incorporating current Communications requests and standard weekly content and schedules the email for a set delivery day and time.

Graphic Design
• Assists in creating graphics for use on website, social media, weekly emails, and other channels using brand guidelines.

Community Weekend Support
• Works with parish volunteers and Facilities Staff to plan Community Weekend.

Website Content Management
• Assists Director of Communications in maintaining and updating the home page and managing the site map for both the school and parish websites.

Social Media Content and Response Management
• Assists Director of Communications in managing content for social media channels of the school and parish including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.


Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related degree program or alternate degree and minimum of 3 years experience in marketing, communications, or advancement.
• High proficiency and extensive experience with Microsoft Office, in particular, Publisher.
• Tech-savvy with enthusiasm for learning new tech solutions and utilizing those solutions to improve processes.
• Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
