Job Position Summary
Client Advocates at Birth Choice are passionately pro-life and counsel women and their families faced with unexpected pregnancies. They offer support to those in crisis pregnancies who may have vulnerable life circumstances, educate those clients about available assistance from Birth Choice, and refer them to other organizations as appropriate. The Client Advocate’s mission is to inspire women and their families to thrive in unexpected pregnancies both in the initial consultation and throughout the pregnancy.
Reports to: Client Services Director
Responsibilities: The Client Advocate is a counselor and a member of Birth Choice’s administration. The Client Advocate works closely with the Client Services Director to assist in the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Tasks include (1) counseling abortion-minded clients using motivational interviewing techniques (2) completing clinical record documentation and developing a wellness plan for continued care (3) assisting the Client Services Director by coordinating miscellaneous programs, volunteer trainings, and services as needed, and (4) maintaining counseling proficiency with daily practice.

-Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
-LPC, LCSW, or similar licensure (preferred)
-Two years of work experience
-Work collaboratively with all Birth Choice staff
-Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
-Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the daily tasks at hand
-Strong skills in: interpersonal communication, including with abortion-minded and abortion-vulnerable clients; public speaking; problem solving; and use of technology (Microsoft Office suite in particular).
