Job Description

The Pastoral Assistant is responsible for recording and submission of all sacramental records for the parish, the administration of the parish database and assisting in the scheduling of parish facilities. In addition, the administrative assistant assists priests with marriage preparation and the assistant to the pastor with other administrative duties.

The administrative assistant also serves as support to the receptionist in the front office, including covering for lunch breaks, vacations and other times as needed.

Job Requirements

The position includes, but is not limited to the following duties:
• Registers families for sacraments and sacrament classes
• Records sacraments in the parish registry
• Provides sacramental records to the diocese
• Assists in scheduling wedding reservations and intercepts conflicts that may occur
• Assists with the processing of all marriage paperwork prior to and after weddings
• Assists the Pastor with administrative duties as needed
• Provides support to the Parish Receptionist and front office when necessary
• Responsible for Safe Environment Coordination at the parish
• Able to work independently
• Other duties determined by your supervisor
