Job Description

Are you a Catholic in good standing looking to use your Theology degree to help form our Junior High youth and their families to be better disciples of Christ? If so, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Keller, TX has an opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic person to assist us as a Junior High Youth minister at a vibrant and large youth ministry program and parish. Due to our size, all of our Youth Ministers work as collaborators in a team approach, which also includes working with parents as the primary catechists. We are looking for innovators who can work within our Diocesan guidelines so that we may accompany our youth and families as they grow in their faith life. This is a full-time position, which requires working irregular hours, recruiting and developing volunteers, and good communication and inspiration skills. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Job Requirements

Essential Functions of the Youth Ministry Coordinator are:
A core area of ministerial responsibility for the Junior High School Youth Ministry Coordinator (JHSYMC) is the active development and engagement of a comprehensive evangelization and catechetical formation process. The JHSYMC is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision and execution of parish programs designed to engage and educate the youth of the parish. He or she will act as an advocate and link for youth and their families to the youth ministry team, the parish family, and the surrounding community.

Because all Diocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. As such, the JHSYMC should be a faithful and practicing Catholic. He/she should demonstrate a love for the particular needs of young people and be an example to them of an individual who lives a morally good life. The JHSYMC is expected to collaborate closely with the DRE and youth ministry team to foster and develop youth formation programs.
