Job Description

The Diocese of Dallas believes that ministry today requires each parish or campus to have a unique architecture with an infrastructure that is cohesive and strategic for maximum impact in a community. Strategic Ministry Development fosters the growth of missionary leaders within parish and campus communities that have been coached to execute intentional ministry in the following ways:
• galvanize disciple-making as a core value and measurable
practice in a parish or campus community's youth, campus,
or young adult ministry
• identify and articulate the culture and charism of the
community
• merge a stated culture and charism with an intentionally
crafted why, how, and what statement
• carefully select strategic goals oriented toward ministry with
the specific demographic identified in the why statement
• execute the stated goals with precision utilizing a “boots on
the ground” mentality

The Ministry Development Strategist assists the Associate Director of Strategic Ministry Development, in collaboration with the other department staff, in ideating, fostering, and ultimately executing the continuing mission of strategic ministry development throughout the diocese (parish and school campuses). Along with the Associate Director, this teammate will serve as a consultative leader to parish and campus teams by assisting in the creation and development of comprehensive, sustainable, and culturally responsive ministry plans.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

• Provide direction, consultation, training, formation, resource
development, metrics creation, and evaluation to support
strategic development with partnering parish ministries
• On-site collaborative work with parish and community leaders
• Empower local parishes to minister to youth and young adults
by engaging and mobilizing parish members in the development
process, reflecting the belief that people will be invested in what
they help to create
• Coach parish and campus leaders in diocesan and national
ministry standards
• Collaborate with multiple offices to ensure an intergenerational
approach to parish ministry development.
• Support current OYYACM programs as needed
• Performs other duties as prescribed by the Director or
Associate Director

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Disciple of Jesus Christ who daily seeks to enhance his or her
relationship with God through the tradition of the Roman
Catholic Church
• Understanding of ministry and theology
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Church documents
• Ability to work as a team player in a highly collaborative
environment
• Strong interpersonal and pastoral skills
• Displayed excellence in articulating an intercultural competency
and its strength within the Church, namely Hispanic culture
• Bilingual, Spanish and English, is necessary: writing, reading,
and speaking
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience in digital and social media
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Open to continued professional growth and development
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
• Positive, practical attitude with balanced initiative

Education and Experience:
• BA/BS degree in related field, Master’s preferred
• Competencies in the areas of Theology, ministry formation,
community organization
• Minimum of 5 years of ministry experience working with youth,
young adults, or campus ministry constituents in a professional
or volunteer capacity
