Special Collection for Victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan

A special collection for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan will be held in the Diocese of Dallas on the weekend of November 30 - December 1.

Over the past few days, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded destroyed entire villages and devastated cities across the Philippines and Vietnam. More than 10,000 people are feared dead in Super Typhoon Haiyan and more than 9 million more are injured and homeless.

Our Church mourns the terrible suffering of our brothers and sisters affected by this powerful storm. The Bishops of the United States request that a special collection be taken up in all of our parishes as soon as possible.  In the Diocese of Dallas this collection is to be taken up on the weekend of November 30 - December 1

Bishop Farrell thanks you all for assisting our diocese in expressing our community's compassion, love and solidarity with the people of the Philippines and to all those in the path of this disastrous typhoon.
