Day of Retreat for Persons with Disabilities and Caregivers - March 15th

The Office of Disabilities and Deaf Ministries is offering a day of retreat for persons with disabilities and caregivers on Saturday, March 15th. The featured speaker is Abbot Peter Verhalen, O.Cist. from the Cistercian Abbey in Irving. The theme for the retreat is "People with Disabilities and Caring for People with Disabilities in the Rule of St. Benedict".
Fr. Peter Verhalen (CPS '73) was born in Texas in 1955, and he entered Our Lady of Dallas in August 1975. He made his solemn profession in 1980 and was ordained to the priesthood in April of the same year. He was Form Master for Class 1989, 1997, and 2003. Fr. Peter teaches Latin and theology at the school. He served as headmaster of the school until he was elected abbot of Our Lady of Dallas in the spring of 2012.
