Bishop Farrell asks all in the Diocese of Dallas to pray for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. It is a great comfort to know that Catholic Charities has been working tirelessly throughout the storm-related areas to bring relief and assistance to those left without shelter or in need of aid. Its resources, however, are being spread thin, and it is in need of our support. And since Hurricane Sandy hit not just the United States but Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica and other countries in the Caribbean, Catholic Relief Services personnel also have been hard at work assisting those in need.
For those of you who wish to send financial support, Catholic Charities, USA and Catholic Relief Services are in need of donations to assist the many affected. These will be used for the immediate humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable and to support the local Catholic Church in its ongoing mission.
Let us pray for all those who are suffering as a result of these tragic circumstances and for all who seek to be in solidarity with them.
