Blessing of the Animals for the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi
One of the many Catholic traditions that brings joy year after year is the Blessing of the Animals on October 4th, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis is known for being the patron saint of animals because of his great love for all of God's creatures, and his compassion towards them was renowned during his lifetime.
Cathedral Guadalupe is joining other churches in the Dallas Arts District to celebrate the Blessing of the Pets on Friday, October 4th at 7:00 PM at the new Klyde Warren Park, one block north of the Cathedral at Pearl and Woodall Rogers.
Here is a list of some of the other parishes that will be celebrating a Blessing of the Animals. Please make sure that all animals brought to be blessed are on a leash or in a cage. Thank you.
