Catechetical Sunday Resources
This year's theme "The Faith Prayed" invites all the baptized--especially catechists and Catholic school teachers--to devote themselves to a deeper study and practice of prayer, for their own spiritual good and for the good of those they serve.  As you plan your faith formation gatherings with catechists, other adults, families, and children, or as you create your communication content (bulletin, email, Facebook, newsletter, etc.), consider implementing and sharing the resources which are intended not only for Sunday Sept. 18, but for use throughout 2016-2017.

NCCL has provided a Catechetical Sunday webpage with various digital tools to assist catechists in the ongoing journey to deepen their prayer lives.  For example, the USCCB Leadership Institute has webinars and vignettes (brief videos such as To Sing is to Pray Twice) to help unpack the theme. There's a link to an app for catechists, and more.  JPII Resources also has a prayer journal for catechists based on "The Faith Prayed".

Grade Level Methods at St. Monica- Aug. 20
St. Monica will be sponsoring Grade Level Methods in English on Sat. Aug. 20.  The only cost is $8 for the book.  As you finalize your catechist assignments, please register them for the appropriate grade level class.  That way they are prepared to tailor catechesis according to age.  Remember that you can use your parish payment code to check out for free, and then the Department will invoice the parish for catechists that attended.
