Online Courses for the Basic Certificate
Cursos En Línea para el Certificado Básico

Starting this September, courses in the Continuing Catechetical Formation plan´s Basic Certificate will be offered in online modality, with the exception of Old and New Testament. You can mix and match courses in online or face-to-face modality to complete your Basic Certificate. These courses are open to any adult interested in growing in the faith, as courses include introductions to the Creed, Morality, Scripture, and others. Catechetical credit will be granted to the facilitated online courses listed in the flyer´s schedule. Remember, the University of Dayton also offers online courses and the Diocesan partnership with this institution for a reduced rate for courses is valid until June 2017.

Comenzando en septiembre, los cursos en el Certificado Básico del Plan de Formación Catequética se ofrecerán en modalidad en línea, con la excepción de Eclesiología, y Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento. Para completar tu Certificado Básico puedes tomar cursos en modalidad presencial o en línea. Estos cursos son no sólo para catequistas, si no también para adultos interesados en crecer en su fe, ya que se ofrecen cursos introductorios en teología y en las Escrituras. Crédito catequético se otorgará a los cursos en línea facilitados por un instructor de acuerdo al horario en este volante. Recuerde que la Universidad de Dayton también ofrece cursos en línea en Español y el convenio de la Diócesis con esta institución para obtener precios reducidos es válido hasta junio 2017.

Certificate in Pastoral Ministry

This certificate program will be another pathway for ministers to receive certification as a catechist of children or adults, or as a parish catechetical leader. The course of study may be taken whole and entire or in part. Participants will be able to mix and match courses in the Certificate for Pastoral Ministry and in the Continuing Catechetical Formation program. Courses are offered in four locations across the Diocese of Dallas: JPII High School (Plano), All Saints, the Catholic Conference and Formation Center and the University of Dallas. Courses offered this fall at each of the locations include: Christian Anthropology, New Testament, and Human and Faith Development, all eligible for catechetical credit.

Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship Classes In English and Spanish: For Ministry and Parish Leaders

Workshops are scheduled for all parish and ministry leaders on Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, the teaching document issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to guide Catholics in the exercise of their rights and duties as participants in our democracy. Facilitators will train participants to teach and encourage others at the local parishes to exercise their political rights and duties according to the teachings of the Church. Sat. Sept. 10 [Location TBD] or Sept. 13 and 15 6:30-9 PM [St. Jude, Allen].

The Catholic Pro Life Committee and the Texas Catholic Conference are hosting "Render Unto Ceasar" webinars to help in the discernment for the voting booth and beyond.
